Donald Trump emerged as the projected winner of the 2024 US presidential election. Here’s why many voters across the country helped him to gain such a victory.

Trump won because he appealed strongly to all those people who felt the country really needed huge changes. Trump promised to return jobs to the US, cut down taxes, and make a stronger military – all concerns dear to the heart of many Americans. His supporters believed he was the best choice to address issues like immigration and crime.

Trump’s support from older voters, as well as those who were dissatisfied with the performance of the economy, was abundant. Many felt that experience made him the right person for the job of trying to solve the challenges facing the country.

Throughout the campaign, Trump emphasised the following issues: securing the U.S. border, improving trade deals and bringing down the cost of living. His message was blunt: he wanted to make America strong and safe again. He promised help on cost-of-living pressures.

Though there were one or two snagging issues and criticisms during the campaign, Trump’s message reached a large group of voters to help carry the day.

His victory has proved just how important it is for leaders to identify themselves with the needs and concerns of their citizens. He appealed to middle to low income Americans who felt they suffered through Biden’s previous four year period. Kamala Harris was not well known among the people of America despite being Vice President to Joe Biden. She failed to show that she would run the nation differently to her predecessor.

Trump was very outspoken and made his goals very succinctly stated during his campaign and was very well known.

Ms Harris pointed her vote campaign mainly at the women of America. She voiced her support of abortion rights and promised she would pass a law protecting them, while Trump wasn’t clear about his opinion, both voting to abandon a right to abortion in 2022 but then saying in 2024 that he would not sign a federal abortion ban. Even though more women voted for Ms Harris than men, surprisingly, more women voted for Trump than her.

With his winning, Trump will again be able to lead the nation and implement his plans. Though there are doubts as to his leadership and his decisions, we will just have to wait and see.
