Bluey, the most iconic family show in Australia, has had Ludo Studios and BBC Studios partner together to launch Bluey coins. These coins are known as Dollarbucks.
Bluey coins are rad … if you can get one, We’re not talking about Uncle Rad, we’re talking about how there are 24 million people in Australia and only 5000 minted coins were made.
People have been raving about these coins.
In fact, people have been taking these Bluey coins way too far, with offers of $99 to $1275.
There are three types of Bluey coins: the coloured proof coins, individual coins and the 10 coin tube set that comes with a collectable folder.
Bluey coins have been selling on eBay for absolutely huge prices, with the 10 coin set just advertised with a price tag over $4000! The Australia Post recommended retail price (RRP) was $30 for the 10 coin tube set and $99 for a single Bluey coloured proof coin.
Australia Post sold out in September in less than one hour. As time goes on, the Bluey coin prices are expected to go higher and higher.
Everyone has gone absolutely crazy about these Bluey coins – some people have even tried to steal them. Police are still trying to recover hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of Bluey coins that have already been stolen.
There is still a chance you could get a Bluey coin in your change. It won’t be minted, but it is still a limited edition Bluey coin. Collectors are encouraged to check their change before and after buying something using cash.
Bluey has been one of the most loved kids’ TV shows since it started. When it launched Bluey coins, the beloved show became more famous than any TV show in Australia. But next time you see a Bluey coin up for sale, just make sure the price tag isn’t $4000.
