Easy Book Week outfits you can still cobble together at school

Borrow from the sports shed, get creative with art materials or share with a friend – if you forgot your Book Week costume today, here are five last-minute, simple ideas, using what’s there

Are all your friends ready for Book Week and you don’t know what you want to be? Or are you someone

that doesn’t really like dressing up? We have five super easy book week costumes for you that you can do at home. You wont even need to go to the shops!

Book Week Costume 1- Mim from The Travelling Bookshop series by Katrina Nannestad

Mim spends her days travelling Europe in a magical caravan with her dad and her brother, sharing books with people who need them. To dress as Mim all you need is:

A skirt and top or a dress

A book!

(and if you have a toy cockatoo around the house, bring that too!)

Book Week Costume 2 – Max from Funny Kid by Matt Stanton

Max’s life goal is to make kids laugh, but he’s just a regular kid. So all you need is:

Jeans

T-shirt (striped if you have one)

An accessory from on of Max’s many adventures. Some ideas are: A microphone, a hockey stick, a toy cat, a toy dog, a toy cat, a gaming headset or a life vest.

Book Week Costume 3 – Quinn from The Callers by Kiah Thomas

Quin in the Callers has the skills to make things disappear! But luckily he just looks like a regular kid, so this costume just needs:

Jeans

A hoodie

That’s it! That’s all you need. Couldn’t be easier!

Book Week Costume 4 – Neeka from The Wilder Zoo series, by Tina Strachan

Neeka lives at the zoo and gets to help with the animals all the time. Because she’s busy working and getting messy, Neeka wears a very easy outfit:

Denim shorts (or jeans)

A T-shirt (striped if you have it)

Then just bring along a stuffed animal and you are Neeka!

Book Week Costume 5 – Howzat Pat by Pat Cummins and Dave Hartley

Are you more into sport than books? Then all you need to wear to be Australian Cricket Captain Pat Cummins from Howzat Pat is:

Shorts

A T-shirt

And bring a cricket bat or ball!
