Wow, that was fast – we hope everyone had a fantastic break after Term 1 and that you enjoyed a few hot cross buns and chocolate eggs over the holidays. Yum!

Welcome to Term 2 at Kids News!

Don’t forget to mark your calendars now for the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee in Term 3. The Bee is free, fun and celebrates its 5th birthday this year. We’re working on some great new features for teachers for the milestone birthday to make sure it’s the biggest and best Bee yet.

NATIONAL SCHOOL ROUND

Registrations open and the school round begins on July 21 and ends on August 22, 2025.

Opens: July 21 at 9am AEST

Closes: August 22 at 5pm AEST

While everyone settles into the start of term, we’d love to hear from you! The reader polls below will help tell us what we’re doing well, where we could improve and what we still need to do to make Kids News even better for Australian classrooms.

It’s always fun to vote in reader polls because you get to see up-to-date results and find out if other readers think the same way you do.

The Kids News 2025 Reader Survey is kicking off with the Open Reader Polls below – these results will help Kids News formulate Part 2: a survey for Kids News newsletter subscribers. Don’t worry if you’re not a subscriber - our newsletter is designed to support adult readers like your teachers and parents but the polls below are open to all readers.

Please note that no one is obliged answer any of the polls below or take the subscriber survey – we’re just interested to know what you think of the job we’re doing here at Kids News HQ.

Thanks for taking part!

Thanks for being with us,

The Kids News team.
